2015 – Gypsum
Between 2014 and 2015, I attempted ENSA Nantes, the school of architecture in the west of France. Before leaving the city which I grew to love more and more, I created three negatives of my body to place them in a park I liked spending my time in, in order to ease my sorrow of separation.
The three sets of sculptures, created by filling liquid gypsum in plastic bags and letting them set while I sit, lay down, and cross my legs on them, developed the negatives of my figure. They are practical pieces that can comfort my then-22-year-old body only. Before my departure, I left the negatives of my body in a park so that they would keep on enjoying their environment.
